The Baltimore Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announce the 2007 FBI Director’s Community Leadership Award |

Baltimore, Maryland – Special Agent in Charge (SAC) William D. Chase of the Baltimore Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is pleased to announce Bishop Leon J. Wilson as the recipient of the 2007 FBI Director’s Community Leadership Award. This prestigious award, which was established by the Director of the FBI in 1990 to publicly recognize the achievements of individuals and organizations actively involved in community crime prevention, is given annually to one individual or organization from each of the FBI’s 56 field offices. The 2007 Baltimore Division recipient, Bishop Leon J. Wilson is pastor of Rehoboth Temple of Praise Church in Laurel, Delaware, Executive Director of ReTemp Development Center, Inc., Director of United Coalition for Charitable Services, and board member of Putting People First and the National Alliance of Faith and Community Partners. Through his continued labor, Bishop Wilson has been able to make a difference
in schools, homes, and communities throughout Sussex County, Delaware.
Like other major U.S. cities, Sussex County, Delaware is confronting
alarming problems such as: crime, poverty, illiteracy, and unusually
high mortality rates. Because of Bishop Wilson’s passion for the community,
he drives 115 miles one way several times a week to orchestrate community
outreach programs such as: In addition, Bishop Wilson sponsors an annual Thanksgiving and Christmas basket give-away, as well as, a school supply drive. These programs service over 3500 adults and children in the Sussex County, Delaware community. Based on his significant contributions to the community, Bishop Wilson is enthusiastically awarded the Baltimore Division 2007 Director’s Leadership Award.
