INFRAGARD DELAWARE MEMBERS ALLIANCE MEETING CONCERNING ESPIONAGE

In today's global and technological society, information vital to the success of any business or corporation is susceptible to theft and corruption.  In fact, espionage and theft of trade secrets is on the increase. Because of its potential to negatively impact our nation’s economic security, law enforcement and intelligence agencies have made it a priority concern.

InfraGard, a national information sharing program, was formed to provide a partnership between government agencies and businesses within the United States.  The goal of the local Delaware Chapter is to provide information as well as create a forum for exchanging ideas and best practices that will help Delaware companies mitigate their risks to emerging threats.

The InfraGard Delaware Members Alliance will hold a meeting to discuss Espionage, entitled “Spies From Within.” The meeting will address threats posed by insiders and what organizations can do to protect themselves. The presentations will include an investigative overview of Ana Belen Montes, a former Department of Defense (DOD) analyst who gave secrets to Cuba, and Robert Hanssen, a former FBI agent who gave secrets to Russia. There will also be a presentation regarding what the private sector can do to protect its domain and bottom line.

Date: Friday, June 15, 2007
Time: 9:00am – 12:30pm
Location: Delaware State Police Troop 2
