SERIAL BANK ROBBER SENTENCED TO 6 ½ YEARS IN FEDERAL PRISON
Baltimore, Maryland - U.S. District Judge Andre M. Davis sentenced Craig Joseph Mills, age 45, of Baltimore late yesterday to 78 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release for bank robbery, announced United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein. Judge Davis also ordered Mills to pay restitution of $31,066.
According to his guilty plea, from April 2005 to February 15, 2007, Mills robbed 15 banks, in each instance approaching the teller, slamming his hand on the counter implying that he had a weapon and demanding money. Mills stole a total of $32,766 over this two year period. $1,600 was later recovered.
United States Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein thanked the Federal Bureau of Investigation for their investigative work, and commended Assistant United States Attorney Debbie Dwyer, who prosecuted the case.
